SCIENTIFIC EXPEDITIONS
THE FIRST EXPEDITION
The establishment of the centre in 2001 was immediately followed by the commencement of a permanent scholarly expedition exploring the apostolic path of Saint Andrew the First Called. (The head of the expedition: D. Berdzenishvili, Proto-priest Basil Zhorzhikashvili, coordinator:   M. Pkhachiashvili, the members: E. Bubulashvili, G. Bolkvadze. Art critic Nikoloz Vacheishvili, writer Kote Jandieri, producer Kakha Imnaishvili, operators: David Asatiani, Levan Pataraia, alpinist Tamaz Sharashenidze and others took part in the expeditions at different times).
 
From 2001 to present 5 expeditions have been organized on the Georgian and Turkish territories. When determining the itinerary for each expedition, the team of researchers considered the information preserved in the historical records on the activities of the Holy Disciple. The first and the second expeditions were organized on the territory of Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park in Imereti and Samtskhe.
 
The 1st expedition itinerary: Geguti › Vartsikhe (Rodopolis) › Baghdati › Khani › Zekari ‘Rkinis Jvari’ (Iron Cross) mountain pass › Abastumani › the Odzrkhe Fortress › Zadengora › Atskuri › Borjomi; the Achara-Meskheti (Persati) ridge and the Khanistskali, Odzrkhe (Abastumnis Tskali), Kvabliani and Mtkvari gorges.
